The intensity of the process varies on the condition of the floors. If the marble or travertine floors have some light wear and tear and are losing their luster, a deep clean & polish is exactly what is needed. On the other hand, if there are deep scratches and etch marks to be removed, a full or partial restoration process will be suggested.
The process for a restoration usually involves the following steps:
• Removing scratches, imperfections, & etch marks using diamond abrasives.
• Polishing the floor with diamond encrusted pads to achieve a honed, polished, or highly polished finish.
• Deep clean the floor using a truck mounted Hot Water Extraction system
• Seal the stone and/or grout
Of course, everything will be tailored to your individual needs and desired outcome!
Is this a messy process?
Fortunately, no! Unlike hardwood floor refinishing, which produces a tremendous amount of dust, this is a very low mess process and measures are taken to protect your home, baseboards, and furniture.
How long will it be until I can walk on my floor again?
Generally within 1 hour or less after the process has been completed.
Are there odors and fumes?
No odors or fumes!
Will there be a lot of noise?
The noisiest part is the wet/dry vacuum that is used every few minutes to pick up the moisture on the floor as we move through the process.
How long does it take?
That all depends on the amount of square footage and whether or not restoration involved. This is not a process that should be rushed, working with marble and travertine can take time. At the time of your consultation, a member of our team can give you an accurate time-table.
How can I maintain the floors afterward?
Use coasters and pads underneath the legs of chairs and furniture. Please avoid using any household cleaners of the floor! Many household cleaners and vinegar can really damage natural stone and quickly remove any sealant applied to grout.
How do you price the job?
Our pricing is based on square footage and is straightforward, fair, and an awesome value. There are NO HIDDEN FEES.
